How 1000's of young birds die after being mistakenly fed plastic by their parents

Photographer Chris Jordan has been documenting birds on Midway Atoll - an island in the pacific. Jordan found carcasses of young birds with plastic caps and other items in their gut. One third of all albatross chicks seem to have died after being mistakenly fed plastic by their parents. The photo series show how pollution in the oceans not only affect marine life but also affect birds and other creatures that depend on the ocean.
